The White-tipped Sicklebill is a very unique hummingbird with a very decurved bill, which assists it in reaching far into the heliconia flowers that it frequently feeds on. It is found from southern Central America, south, following the lush lowlands adjacent to, and in, the lower Andean foothills to Peru, mostly in the lower levels of dense forest, where its preferred flowers are found.
