The national bird of Venezuela, the Venezuelan Troupial is a large oriole that is closely-related to Icterus found in North America. Found mainly in Venezuela and Colombia, it also exists on nearby Caribbean islands, and on Puerto Rico. This bird prefers scrubby areas and dry tropical forest and open space along forest edges.
