Scale-crested Pygmy Tyrant is a very small member of the tyrant flycatcher family that ranges from Guatemala to Peru and Bolivia, mainly along forest edges in the eastern slope of the Andes in South America. It is an active bird, that bounces around constantly in the foliage. Its dependence on humid forest makes deforestation and the growth of human population centers constant threats to this species, and thousands of others.
