Adult Rufous-tailed Jacamar T-shirt

The Rufous-tailed Jacamar is a species of jacamar that is found from southern Mexico south, through much of South America, avoiding denser rainforest regions of the Amazon. It prefers patches of lowland humid forest and forest edges, and uses adjacent clearings to hunt. It, like most jacamars, shows iridescent plumage. Jacamars often perch on branches or vines, looking up, and then sally out to catch wasps, butterflies, dragonflies, and other insects.
