Adult Ruby-throated Hummingbird T-shirt

This hummingbird is the only species commonly seen by most residents of eastern North America. Very closely related to the Black-chinned hummingbird, the Ruby-throated is migratory, and winters further south, from the southeastern Atlantic coast and Gulf coast of North America, south, through Central America. It has a preference for certain species of flowers, which can determine how it regionally occupies its range.
