The Red-tailed Hawk is a very widespread raptor species that is found throughout North America, Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The Krider's subspecies of this highly-variable Buteo is found in central North America, from Canada to the Gulf coast. It is a remarkably pale overall, and usually exhibits only a very pale red color on the tail, if it shows any at all.
