Kids Lesser Violetear T-shirt

The Lesser Violetear represents part of a taxonomically-difficult hummingbird genus, and it was recently considered conspecific with the Mexican Violetear as the Green Violetear. The nearly identical Mexican Violetear is found further north, including occasionally in Texas, and very rarely further north and east in the US. The Lesser Violetear is found in lush, humid mountain forests from Costa Rica south, to the Andean foothills, and from there, down to the jungles of Bolivia. There are several other very similar species in its genus.
