The Eastern Bluebird is one of three bluebird species in the Sialia genus of the thrush family. It is widespread and familiar in virtually all of eastern and central North America, and is found south, through Mexico and parts of Central America to northern Nicaragua. It generally inhabits farmland and field edges, as well as treelines or patches of forest bordering open meadow, riparian habitat, and in sparse, spread out forest.
