A vulnerable species, the Bicknell's Thrush sparsely occupies a range much smaller than that of any other thrush in eastern North America during the breeding season, where they nest in higher elevation dense forest and feed on insects and other small invertebrates, and occasionally, fruit. Known for their open relationships, males mate with several females, and nests often contain offspring from various males. Males will also tend to and feed young and nesting females at multiple nests. Pollution and destruction of its small ideal habitat will likely take over 50% of this species' remaining numbers in the next two decades.
