Adult Fiery-throated Hummingbird T-shirt

The throat of this hummingbird, in the right light, looks like it has an oil slick reflecting the colors of the rainbow across its feathers. A very limited-range bird, it is exclusively found in the mountains of Costa Rica and western Panama, generally at higher altitudes. It is very dependent on patches of protected forest, and any further habitat loss, that sees forest converted to farmland, would certainly imperil its existence.
