Adult Eastern Kingbird T-shirt

A long range migrant, the Eastern Kingbird of the tyrannus genus breeds in almost all of eastern, central, and a large part of western North America. A flycatcher, it generally sallies from its perch to catch insects in flight. They migrate to central and even southern South America for the colder months, usually vacating their breeding grounds several weeks before most other migratory birds. Though quite common, their population is thought to have declined by around 50% over the last 50 years. Habitat loss, especially caused by the rise in number and size of cities and towns is thought to have contributed to their decline.
