Adult Dark Pewee T-shirt

The Dark Pewee is a crested Contopus species that is overall a pretty uniform gray (with slightly lighter color on underside), making it visibly distinguishable from other similar flycatchers. It is found in the very limited, biodiverse Talamancan mountains of Costa Rica and western Panama, usually found on exposed branches along forest edges, from which it sallies out to catch insects in flight. It is very closely related to the widespread wood-pewees and the Olive-sided Flycatchers that breed in North America.
