Adult Black-cowled Oriole T-shirt

The Black-cowled Oriole is a species that is in the same Icterus genus as orioles that are found in the United States and Canada, as well as all New World orioles and caciques. Found from southern Mexico to western Panama, it is mainly found in humid forest, along forest edges, in gardens and plantations, and in open areas with flowering trees, mainly in foothills and coastal lowlands, such as the Yucatan peninsula, and the Caribbean slope of the mountains in rugged Central America, though it can be found closer to the Pacific in Costa Rica. Like all orioles, it feeds on insects and other small invertebrates, fruit, and nectar, and is dependent on certain habitat, and susceptible to deforestation.
