Adult Baird's Tapir T-shirt

Tapirs are very unique mammals, whose closest extant relatives are horses and rhinoceroses. There are four species recognized, three in the American tropics, and one in tropical Asia. They are all very dependent on their environments, all of which are experiencing rapid deforestation, which makes all four species vulnerable or endangered. The Baird's tapir is the northernmost of the three American species, found from northeastern Mexico to northwestern South America, in isolated patches of habitat that still remain. It, like all tapirs, is an herbivore that feeds primarily on leaves and fruit, mainly at night.
